Updated NIH Process for No-Cost Extensions
Effective immediately, the NIH has re-enabled the no-cost extension (NCE) functionality within eRA Commons. As a result, UCLA’s Office of Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA) is once again able to approve first no-cost extensions directly in eRA Commons.
NIH will not review first-time NCE requests previously submitted through the Prior Approval module that have not yet been approved. Please initiate these and any new first NCE requests through the Status module by selecting the Extension action. OCGA will then review and process the request accordingly.
Current Recommendation:
Even if your NIH award is listed as suspended, you may still proceed with submitting a first no-cost extension request.
